ABOUT

I'm Shari Thompson, writer, travel advisor and culinary tourist.


In 2021, I was furloughed and eventually let go with 19 years and 3 days on the books. Yes, you read that right. I was 28 days shy of 20 years of service when I had ‘the conversation’. 


My career had taken a detour and for the first time me the CFO of the Thompson household, I was out of a job. Luckily I had over 400 hours of time that needed to be cashed out before my exit. 


For the first time in a long time I had time and money but, there was no where to go, the world was on lock down.

With time on my hands, I journaled most days, and I crafted pandemic inspired recipes. I thought about the places I didn't go, or things I didn't do because I was too busy with work.


Never again. Never would I ever sacrifice my quality time or put my dreams on hold, waiting for the tomorrow that quite possibly may never come.


In anticipation of the world opening up I started Toast & Trek, became a certified travel advisor with Fora Travel and planned a immersive culinary girl's trip to Greece. 


Ever since, I've been planning intimate gatherings and bringing people together around the joys of food; helping them celebrate and fit more travel into their life.
